Hello and welcome to my personal blog on shahrouz.net! My name is Shahrouz Omidvar, and I’m a Senior Network Engineer with over 7 years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network infrastructures across service providers, data centers, and enterprise environments. Based in Alborz, Iran, I’ve had the privilege of working on high-stakes projects that emphasize zero downtime, high availability, and operational efficiency. If you’re into networking, automation, or tech innovations, I hope you’ll find value in what I share here.

A Bit About My Background

I hold a Master’s degree in Energy Conversion from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad and a Bachelor’s in Fluid Mechanics from Tafresh University. While my academic roots are in engineering, my professional journey has been deeply immersed in networking. I’ve earned certifications like CCNA, CCNP, and various MikroTik qualifications (MTCNA, MTCRE, etc.), along with expertise in Python for automation.

Throughout my career, I’ve held roles at Enterprise, Internet Service Provider and Hosting companies.

On the personal side, I’ve managed a global Linux-based VPN infrastructure since 2018, achieving 99%+ uptime with technologies like WireGuard, HAProxy, and Dockerized Zabbix monitoring. I’m also passionate about wireless networking, TCP/IP fundamentals, and even published a paper on numerical simulations in fluid mechanics back in 2017.

You can connect with me on LinkedIn or email me at [email protected]. I’m fluent in English and Persian, with elementary French.

Why This Blog?

As a network engineer, I constantly encounter fascinating challenges and discoveries—whether it’s optimizing congestion control in high-latency environments, automating workflows with Python, or exploring emerging tech like VXLAN EVPN and AI-assisted tools. This blog is my space to share those findings, insights, and lessons learned. Expect posts on networking topics, troubleshooting tips, automation scripts, and other interesting tech stuff that catches my eye.

I’ll aim to post occasionally, focusing on practical, real-world advice drawn from my experiences. If you have suggestions or topics you’d like me to cover, feel free to reach out!

Stay tuned for my first technical post coming soon. Thanks for reading!
